Zakat House participates in Social Responsibility Forum
Kuwait Zakat House participated in the first humanitarian forum for social responsibility organized by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Jumeirah Hotel – Messila on 23rd October under the title “Forum of Social Responsibility in the Service of Humanity”. The forum was under the auspices of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs and with the participation and presence of a large number of governmental organizations and private sector companies in Kuwait, aiming at publicizing the work of UNHCR and creating joint cooperation opportunities in philanthropy to support refugee issues around the world, and strengthen partnerships between the international humanitarian community and Kuwaiti companies and institutions from their social responsibility.
The Deputy Director General of Zakat House for Resources and Information Kawthar Al-Musallam presented a working paper at the workshop held on the sidelines of the forum which shed light on the efforts of The House, and its contributions to humanitarian relief and support charity work in all parts of the world in accordance with the directives of the humanitarian leader HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. - To strengthen the humanitarian role of Kuwait and to help each needy, especially the efforts of The House in supporting the urgent educational, health and relief needs and sustainable development programs for refugees.
She pointed out that Zakat House has always been a forerunner against humanitarian crises resulting from the waves of displacement due to war or humanitarian disasters through effective partnerships built by the House throughout its decades-long journey with international organizations, and UN institutions concerned with refugees and ways to achieve sustainable development for them and support efforts to integrate them in the host communities and provide them with a decent livelihood. In accordance with the high mission of Zakat House and its leading role in the field of charitable and humanitarian work.
Al-Musallam stressed the important role of civil society organizations and private companies as they play their social responsibility towards humanitarian issues in our Arab and Islamic societies, especially to face the problems of refugees and displaced people, meet their living needs and provide suitable job opportunities that guarantee them a decent life.
